The Weifang ±800 kV DC transmission project starts from the Zhalute Converter Station and ends at the Guanggu Converter Station in Weifang, Shandong Province. It has a rated transmission capacity of 10 million kilowatts and a transmission distance of 1,234 kilometers. Since its official operation on December 31, 2017, the project has been safely in operation for 275 days, and has cumulatively completed cross-provincial and cross-regional power transmission of 12.552 billion kilowatt-hours, effectively solving the serious "power surplus" problem in Northeast China and achieving remarkable results in smog control and the absorption of excess production capacity.
